Leadership Development and Programming Board

The Leadership Development and Programming Board (LDPB) exists in providing-and prides itself on promoting a multitude of diverse programming and leadership development opportunities for the UWRF student and campus community. It is composed of various student-driven committees and initiatives that plan, coordinate, and conduct programs and activates for student life. The LDPB provides many opportunities for students and campus organizations to make the most of their education at UWRF as well as gain additional knowledge and experience though progressive team-building and leadership skills. The LDPB is student driven and in itself provides various opportunities for student to become a direct part of this process.

Committees

Campus Media Committee

The Campus Media Committee brings together the various types of media available on campus, which include a television show (Focus on U), a newspaper (The Student Voice), a literary magazine (Prologue), and a radio station (WRFW), to spread information across the campus as well as the community. These different student organizations work together to spread information on events and news to keep people informed, as well as work together to help improve each department’s efficiency. Sharing ideas, brainstorming, and promoting different events helps to unify the different campus medias to reach our goal of having a knowledgeable and united society.

Diversity Awareness Committee

The Diversity Awareness Committee (DAC) work with the diversity organizations on campus to help create programming that meets their needs. They work with the Student Entertainment and Arts Committee (SEAC) to bring in different diversity groups in for the Wyman series as well as planning a big event called Unity in the Community. This group represents the diversity and diversity programming on campus.

Traditions Committee

The Traditions Committee is a group of students who help to plan, and run the different events that are traditions on campus. The main event they work to put on for the university is homecoming. They organize the events, competitions, obstacle courses, coronation of royalty, any groups that will be performing, and more to make homecoming a success. They also work to put on a winter carnival week.

Leadership Development and Service Committee

The Leadership Development and Service Committee provides ongoing leadership development and service opportunities to the student community and support the efforts of student leaders throughout the UWRF community. Also, they provide support and coordination of existing student leadership outreach programs and service initiatives and provide for the financial security of such efforts through the allocation of monies and the support of such programs and initiatives that encompass student leadership and service interests.

Recreational Activites Committee

The Recreational Activities Committee is a standing committee which is part of the Leadership Development and Programming Board (LDPB). The main goal of the committee is to provide fun and healthy recreational activities on campus. We fund many of the club sports, dance teams, and health and recreation organizations on campus. We also host the annual "Ice Skating Dance Party" and the "All Night" recreation event, as well as fund campus shuttles to Afton Alps Ski Resort and Minnesota Twins games. The recreational Activities Committee also gathers student feedback on rules and policies in the recreation program and helps form new rules or policies, and handles intramural protests and discipline.

Student Entertainment and Arts Committee

The Student Entertainment and Arts Committee (SEAC) is a group that works on both entertainment and fine arts programming. They plan and organize the Brandy’s Underground series, help get artists and comedians to come to campus and they also work with the Wyman Series bringing different musicians and music groups to campus and events such as Finals Fest.

Student Organizations Committee

The Student Organizations Committee is a group of students who help to allocate money for the single event requests, and they work with helping new organizations get formed and recognized. They help with the training of organizations and assist to make conferences, workshops and trainings available to student organizations.
