Building Manager
The University Center Building Manager assists the professional staff in supervising the
University Center. They are responsible for all functions occurring during their shift,
working with student, faculty, staff, and guest users of the building's services and facilities,
as well as oversight of other student employees working in the facility. The University
Center Building Manager is the point of contact person for all groups using the University
Center facilities. Building Managers are additionally responsible for security of the building,
safety of its patrons, decision making in regard to irregular situations or requests and response
to emergency situations, all according to University Center and University policy. Building Managers
represent Student Affairs while on duty. This is an academic year appointment and requires
day, evening and weekend hours.
Campus Reservations Assistant
A Campus Reservations Student Assistant is an undergraduate student employee working for
the Student Affairs Department. This position is the primary campus reservations staff person
on duty and is responsible for providing customer service to individuals who telephone, e-mail,
web-request or visit the Campus Reservations Office to request room reservations in person.
This position requires reservations desk coverage during the standard business day and some
evening hours.
Custodian
The University Center Custodian position is an undergraduate student employee working for
the University Center. The University Center Custodial Staff provides basic custodial duties
of common areas in the building. This position requires evening and weekend hours.
Desk Assistant
The University Center Desk Assistant is an undergraduate student employee working at
the Involvement Center Desk and the Information Desk in the University Center. This
position is responsible for receptionist duties, cash handling, assisting students,
professional staff, and the public, as well as various tasks at both desks with a
strong emphasis on customer service. This position requires evening and weekend hours
in addition to daytime desk coverage.
Desk Lead
This position is available only through internal promotion. The University Center Desk Lead is an undergraduate student employee working at the Involvement
Center Desk and the Information Desk in the University Center. This position is responsible for
insuring a smooth daily operation of all University Center desk functions as well as supervising
the University Center Desk Assistants. In addition, this position will work desk shifts including,
receptionist duties, cash handling, assisting students, professional staff, and the public, and
various tasks at both desks. This position requires a strong emphasis on customer service and
attention to detail. This position requires evening and weekend hours in addition to
daytime desk coverage.
Lead Custodian
This position is available only through internal promotion. The University Center Lead Custodian position is an undergraduate student employee working
for the University Center. The University Center Lead Custodian provides basic custodial duties
of common areas in the building as well as upervision of student Custodial Staff. This position
requires evening and weekend hours.
Production Services - Event Staff
The Production Services - Event Staff is primarily responsible for all of the production
infrastructure and room setups for the University Center and secondary support is provided
campus-wide. The staff will be responsible for set-up and take-down of all staging,
trussing, video screens, Genie Lifts, scaffolding, crowd barricades, tables, chairs and
will provide additional departmental support as needed including audio, video and lighting
systems. Production Services - Event Staff represent Student Affairs while on duty. This
appointment requires evening and weekend hours and a commitment of 6 - 12 hours per week.
This is a very labor-intensive position.

Production Services - Lead Technician
This position is available only through internal promotion. The Production Services – Lead Technician is primarily responsible for supervising all
of the student employees within the Production Services Department. Production Services
provides full scale event production needs for the University Center and secondary
support is provided to the entire campus. The Lead Technician will be responsible for
planning, advancing events, supervising set-up and take-down of all audio-visual,
lighting, and other production equipment and will provide direct oversight of staff
as required to ensure event success. Production Services – Lead Technician represents
Student Affairs while on duty. This appointment requires evening and weekend hours on a
regular basis of 15 – 25 hours per week. Irregular weeks could reach 30 hours.

Production Services - Student Technical Manager
This position is available only through internal promotion. The Production Services - Student Technical Manager is primarily responsible for all of the
production infrastructure and room setups for the University Center and secondary support
is provided campus-wide. The staff will be responsible for expert level knowledge of
set-up and take-down procedures related to all Production Services equipment. This position
will oversee up to (4) student staff employees. Production Services - Student Technical
Manager represents Student Affairs while on duty. This appointment requires evening
and weekend hours and a commitment of 12 - 15 hours per week. This is a very labor-intensive
position.
