Rec Sports
Intramural Manager
The Intramurals Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting campus Intramural
activities, programs and events sponsored by the Rec Sports Department. Responsibilities
include assisting with the development, administration, supervision and evaluation of the
Intramural program, including equipment duties and scheduling and training workers The
Intramural Manager will also serve as an Intramural Supervisor and assist with the
administration of Intramural events. The position requires evening and weekend hours.

Intramural Staff
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Recreation, Recreation Manager, and Intramural
Supervisors: the Intramural Staff member enforces game rules and records game information as
officials and/or scorekeepers for any number of intramural sports including basketball, flag
football, soccer, volleyball, softball, ultimate frisbee, broomball, and dodgeball. Additional
duties include maintaining a safe and fun atmosphere during intramural competition, facilitating
fair play among participants, and attending sport-specific training sessions.

KinniConnections Manager
The KinniConnections Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting campus outdoor
recreational activities, programs and events sponsored by the Rec Sports Department.
Responsibilities include assisting with the development, administration, supervision and
evaluation of the KinniConnections Outdoor Recreation program, including equipment rental,
the climbing. The KinniConnections Manager will also serve as an Intramural Supervisor
and assist with the administration of Intramural events. The position requires evening and
weekend hours.

KinniConnections Staff
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Recreation and KinniConnections Manager:
KinniConnections Staff members serve as belayers for open climbing sessions, outdoor trip
leaders or assistants, and teachers of skills for various outdoor pursuits. Requirements
include ability to create a safe and fun environment while facilitating outdoor activites,
ability to work with individuals of a wide variety of ages and ability levels, and a
willingness to learn new skills and techniques by attending various training sessions.

Recreation Intern
This position will work closely with the Assistant Director of Recreational Sports in all areas
of Recreation such as Intramurals, Club Sports and Outdoor Recreation. Duties include, but are
not limited to, assisting with game and event scheduling and administration; marketing and
promotion; hiring, training, and scheduling student workers; Intramural supervision; equipment
management; and recreational facilities management. The position requires evening and weekend
hours.

Recreation Manager
The Recreation Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting campus recreational activities,
programs and events sponsored by the Rec Sports Department. Responsibilities include assisting
with the development, administration, supervision and evaluation of the Intramural sports program,
KinniConnections outdoor program, Knowles climbing wall, and Club Sports. The Recreation Manager
trains, evaluates, and schedules Recreation Sports Staff. The position requires evening and
weekend hours.

Hunt/Knowles
Camera Technician
The Camera Technician operates the 2 camera system in Hunt Arena which plays in-house, on the
internet, and on local cable. They work closely with the Sound Engineer and Video Technician
to create an exciting atmosphere at Hunt Arena. The Camera Technician also operates the
special effects board attached to the Hunt Arena Video Board System.

Hunt Supervisor
The Hunt Supervisor assists the professional staff in supervising the Hunt Arena and is the
individual in charge of the facility each evening. They are responsible for all functions occurring
during their shift, working with student, faculty, staff, and guest users of the building's
services and facilities, as well as oversight of other student employees working in the facility.
Hunt Supervisors are additionally responsible for security of the building, safety of its patrons,
decision making in regard to irregular situations or requests and response to emergency situations,
all according to Hunt Arena and University policy. Hunt Supervisors also are RSF's Zamboni Drivers.
Each supervisor is trained on how to drive the Zamboni, and then drives for all events at Hunt
Arena including Falcon Hockey. You must first be a Sport Facility Staff for at least one year
before you are promoted to a Hunt Supervisor.

Ice Skating Instructor
Hunt Arena Skating School provides kids and adults in the community a
place to learn to skate and to advance their figure skating skills. As a
coach you would be responsible for teaching classes in both eight week
sessions (Session 1: October - December, Session 2: December - March), creating your own
lesson plan, and teaching the required skills of ISI. Coaches also
assist in the production of the Annual HASS Figure Skating Show,
which includes script writing, choreographing routines, creating
props and costumes, and all other facets associated with a production.
Coaches are expected to be able to work will all levels from beginners
to freestyle. They must be good with kids and have at least 2 years
experience in coaching figure skating. Coaches must be able to prove that
they have passed at least Freestyle 5 or USFS Juvenal Freestyle. HASS is
an ISI program and follows the skills associated with this program.

Sport Facility Event Staff
Sport Facility Event Staff have many different roles in the Hunt and Knowles Complex.
These roles range from

Working the front desk: Students would sell memberships, answer the phones, set the
facility for different events.

Hunt or Knowles Event Staff: Students assist facility supervisor in daily cleaning of
facility, facility set-ups, and supervision of the facility.

Concessions: Students work in the Hunt Arena Concession Stand for different events ranging
from Falcon Hockey, to Commencement, and Track Meets.

Penalty Box: Students sit in the penalty box during all Falcon Hockey games and assist players
in entering and exiting the box.

Varsity Cleaner: Students assist the facility supervisor and event staff in cleaning the
facilities locker rooms and training rooms.

Summer Sport Facility Event Staff
Summer Sport Facility Event Staff have many different roles in the Hunt and Knowles Complex.

Sound Engineer
The Sound Engineer position is an integral part of Rec. and Sport Facilities Game
Administration. The Sound Engineer manages the sound system during all
Falcon Hockey games, both men and women. They choose what music is played in-between
stoppages of play and during intermission. They work closely with the Director and
Assistant Director of Rec. and Sport Facilities to provide an exciting atmosphere in
Hunt Arena.

Video Technician
The Video Technician is in charge of the Video Replay Board in Hunt Arena. They work closely
with the Sound Engineer and Camera Technician to create an exciting atmosphere at Hunt Arena.
They also assist in the creation of highlight videos, movie clips, and other in-game and
intermission entertainment. Strong computer skills are required for this position.

Kansas City Chiefs (summer only)
Concessionaire
The Kansas City Chiefs Concessionaires work during the summer in the months of July and
August. They prepare and sell all of the food at every KC Chiefs Practice at Ramer Field
and Special Events (i.e. Family Fun Night and Vikings Scrimmage Night). They also sell
all KC Chiefs Merchandise. A food and/or concessions background is preferred.

5-6 days a week, 6-8 hrs/day

Event Staff
These students work strictly during the months of July and August and are usually
Summer Event Staff Students, but this is not a requirement. The
KC Chiefs Event Staff supervise and oversee the facility during Kansas City Chiefs
Training Camp. They assist in facility security, facility cleaning, opening and closing
the facility, facility set-up, and work the front desk throughout camp. These students
get to see what life in the NFL is all about.
