Saturday, May 10, 2008Finals Fest Softball
Looking for one more great opportunity to play some softball this
spring? On Saturday, May 10, 2008, the Rec Sports department will be
hosting a “Finals Fest” Softball Tournament in conjunction with the
“Finals Fest” concert featuring Craig Morgan. The Softball Tournament
will start at 6:00pm on Saturday, May 10, 2008 and run until it is done. Teams and
players will be encouraged to purchase tickets to see Craig Morgan that
evening at the Knowles Center. This is a Co-Rec Softball Tournament
only! To sign up, just stop by the Involvement Center and pick up a blue
"team sign-up" sheet. Fill it out and return it to the Reception Desk
along with your $10.00 per team entry fee. The deadline to sign up is
4:30pm on Friday, May 9, 2008. The bracket for the games will be posted
before games begin on Saturday, May 10, 2008 morning.

We will be celebrating a great year of Recreation events. Anyone is invited with a valid UWRF ID! The best part of it all is that the bowling is FREE! Come join us and blow off some steam as we head towards the end of the year! We will be bowling for an hour and a half. Sand Volleyball Enthusiasts!
Want to play in a free 2 on 2 Sand Volleyball Tournament? Well here is
your chance. The Recreation Department is sponsoring a 2 on 2 Sand
Volleyball Tournament starting Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the East End courts.
The tournament is scheduled for 3 days, with the first day or two slated
for pool play (depending on how many teams sign up). Teams can be any
combination of males and/or females. Games will begin at 4:00pm. To
sign-up, just fill out a blue sign-up sheet in the Involvement Center by
4:30pm on Monday, May 5, 2008. You may also email your team name and team
members in to intramurals@uwrf.edu .
Brackets will be available at the courts on Tuesday.

Hey Badminton Enthusiasts!
Looking for a place to test your Badminton skills? On Tuesday, April 8, 2008
and Thursday, April 10, 2008, the Intramural Department is hosting both Badminton singles
and doubles tournaments in the Karges Gym! Tuesday, April 8, 2008 will be the
singles tournament and Thursday, April 10, 2008 will be the doubles bracket. All
games will begin at 7:00pm at Karges. The best part of all, the
tournaments are FREE! All you have to do is show up! We will also be
accepting sign-ups through email. Just email your name and team partner
(for doubles) to intramurals@uwrf.edu . The deadline to sign up will be
7:00pm on either day. We will have racquets and shuttles, but you are
free to bring your own.

Interested in some fun Floor Hockey action? The Rec Sports Department is hosting an Intramural Floor Hockey
Tournament on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 and Wednesday, April 2, 2008. There will be both men's and women's
divisions. Games will be played at Hunt Arena starting at 7:00pm on the
Tuesday, April 1, 2008. The deadline to sign up is Monday, March 31, 2008 at 4:00pm.

and pick up a blue "team sign-up" sheet. Fill it out and return it to
the Reception Desk along with your $10.00 per team entry fee. The

UWRF Hoops Fans,
Tonight is the big night for Intramural Basketball. We will be playing
four Intramural Championship games for Men's and Women's Basketball. We
will also be running our first annual Intramural Basketball Hoopla
event! From 7:30pm- 9:30pm on court one at the Knowles Center,
we will be hosting 5 basketball skills competitions. There will be a 3-point
contest, free throw contest, lightning contest, co-rec hot spot contest
and shoot for shirt contest. We will be giving away Intramural t-shirts
to all the winners. You do not need to be on an Intramural team to
participate. All you need is your UWRF I.D. All the events are FREE!

Thursday, March 13, 2008Intramural Basketball Hoopla!
Do you have basketball fever? Did your team miss out on playoffs but
you still want to play? Come to the Knowles Center on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 7:30pm for Intramural Basketball Hoopla! The Recreation Sports
department will be hosting 5 different basketball contests to test your
skills on the hardwood. The contests are Free Throw Contest, 3-Point Contest, Lightning Contest, Co-Rec Hot Spot Competition and "Half-Time" Shootout (a player needs to make a layup, free throw,
3-pointer and half court shot in 35 seconds). Intramural t-shirts will be given out as prizes for all the contests.
Every player with a valid UWRF I.D. can take part. You will be given
one chance at each contest. To play, simply show up at Knowles at 7:30pm
when the contests begin. We will have sign-up sheets for each event as
the night goes on.

feedback. Please take our Spring 2008 Intramural Survey . It should
only take about 10 minutes to complete. We are always trying to come up
with new and innovative ideas to bring to our campus as recreational
opportunities. We really appreciate your time and feedback. The information
you will provide will be completely anonymous and will only be used to
evaluate and improve our program. Please invite your friends to
participate in the survey as well. We, as a Recreation Staff, value all
input given to us about our program and we want to thank you for your

Want to test your bowling skills against others on campus? Campus
Recreation is sponsoring a “Leap Year” Bowling Tournament on Friday, February 29, 2008 at Bud's Lanes. The tournament will begin at 9:30 PM and
run until about 11:00 PM. There will be both a women's and men's
champion based on high score, with the winner receiving an Intramural
Championship t-shirt. The best part of the tournament is that it is FREE
for students and staff. To sign up send your eSIS ID and your name to intramurals@uwrf.edu . Shoes and bowling will be covered! Space is limited.
Everyone that signs up by Wednesday, February 27, 2008 is guaranteed at least one free
game!
Monday, February 11, 2008Recreation Activities Committee
The Recreation Activities Committee is looking for students interested
in Campus Recreation that want to be apart of club sports budgeting
plans, as well as bring other recreational activities to campus. A few
of the fun things this committee brings to campus are the ping pong
tournament and the ice skating dance party, we help sponsor the All
Night Party and much more! This committee would be a great way to get
involved second semester and in the next years with recreational
activities on campus!
We will be having our first meeting in the Eau Galle River Room (332) in
University Center at 7:00pm on Monday, February 11, 2008. At this meeting we be
giving more information about the roles of this committee.

Monday, January 28, 2008Men's Club Baseball Meeting
Interested in playing on the Men's Club Baseball team? If so, the team
is having a team meeting on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 9:15pm at
Knowles Center. A team practice will follow the meeting. The team is still
looking for more dedicated individuals who are looking for an
opportunity to play baseball on campus. The club will be playing in the
National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) starting this spring against
other teams from Wisconsin and other Midwestern states. If you are

health-related issues, and forwarding recommendations.
The work of the group may be accomplished through subcommittees focusing on specific issues, including
the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Coalition; the Physical Activity and Healthy Eating Coalition; and
the Campus Sexual Assault Task Force. Interested students are also welcome to join these groups.

Playoff Rosters
Intramural Flag Football, Soccer, and Ultimate Frisbee Teams, Playoff rosters must be finalized before
games start next week. If you have added players to your roster throughout the season, make sure you
have come into the Involvement Center and officially added their names to our Intramural add/drop list.
We have a binder available at the Reception Desk where you can officially add players to your roster. We
do not take the names that are penciled in on the scoresheets at the fields and add them to the official
rosters. You and your team are responsible for doing that. All rosters that will be present at the first
playoff games will be the official "playoff rosters" and no one can be added after games start. Even if
your team has a player who has played every game this season, but their name has yet to appear on any
scoresheet, you must come in and officially add them to your roster. We will make no exceptions during
the week of playoffs. Thanks and good luck!

Fantasy Football league
Want to be a part of the Fantasy Football craze? Here is your chance. UWRF Intramurals is hosting an
online Fantasy Football league through Yahoo! for 2007. We are doing it differently this year. This year
you will pick the winner of all 16 games every week and gain points for every correct game you choose.
We will then award the winner of the league with a T-Shirt at the end of the season. To enter, go to

and click on "fantasy sports". Click on PRO FOOTBALL PICK 'EM and follow the steps to join a private
league. If you do not have a Yahoo! ID, you will need to create one, but do not worry, it is free. The

Racquet Sports
Interested in playing some fun racquet sports? The Recreation Department has 2 fun Intramural activities
that may suffice your racquet sports needs. We are offering both a Tennis and Racquetball Ladder for
UWRF students and staff to take part in. How they work is you would submit your name to the ladder and
then be free to challenge other players on the respective ladder. The ladder and the names and contact
information will be posted on the
intramurals
page. Players are only allowed to challenge someone two spots ahead of them on the list. To register,

and we will put your name on our list. Please let us know if you want to take part in the Tennis or
Racquetball ladder. Your name will then appear on the website and you can begin challenging others.
