The Climbing Wall

Do you like to challenge yourself? Try rock climbing at the Knowles Center. It is a $5.00 fee plus Knowles Daily Admission. Knowles Daily Admission is waived for UWRF students, faculty, and staff with current university ID and for those who have a Knowles membership. We provide all equipment for climbing except for climbing shoes.

Are you interested in renting the climbing wall for yourself or for a group of people? Contact the Recreation staff at intramurals@uwrf.edu today for prices. Our staff is trained and ready to belay and guide you on the wall.

The mission of the UWRF Climbing Wall staff is to provide a safe and challenging atmosphere for all climbers. This allows students, faculty, staff and community members the opportunity to set and achieve goals. In addition, the UWRF Climbing Wall provides a wall made of real stone to give climbers a realistic experience. We create an environment for beginner to expert climbers to improve their climbing ability.

The UWRF Climbing Wall is made out of real stone to give climbers a realistic experience. We have a 10ft. tall training wall that has 10 sections that vary in difficulty. The Climbing Wall itself is 40ft. tall with 8 lead ropes and 10 resting platforms. This wall is designed for all skill levels.

You must sign a waiver before you will be allowed to use the wall. Participants 18 years old and younger must have the wavier signed by a parent/guardian. Climbing Wall staff will check to make sure everyone has the waiver filled out correctly. Those without waiver will be unable to climb. Once we receive a complete waiver we will keep it on file for one academic year.
