Leadership Opportunities

Stratton 2007 staff

There are various leadership opportunities for students on campus, and several of them are right in your residence hall.

Hall Council

Each residence hall has its own Hall Council Board. Elected by the community members of the hall, these students are responsible for providing programs for the hall, spending funds raised by the hall through it's fundraising efforts, and setting standards for hall use of equipment and areas. If you are interested in being a part of your hall's Hall Council, talk to your resident assistant or attend a Hall Council meeting. All meetings are open to hall community members.

Area Council

With a budget of nearly $35,000.00 this council is responsible for allocating funding for various residence hall programs, including such traditions as The All Night Party, Spring Formal, Hallapalooza, and Beach Bash. This group meets on a weekly basis. If you are interested in being a part of this very important group of students, please attend your first Hall Council meeting and get involved!

Res Living Committee

Comprised of one representative from each residence hall, this committee addresses facility issues in the residence halls, hears exemption appeals to the housing contract, and helps create and revise current residence hall policies and procedures. If you are interested in joining this committee, attend your Hall Council meetings and inquire.

National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

The UWRF Chapter of NRHH believes that recognition is one of the most important things on campus. This organization is made up of the top 1% of student leaders in the residence halls. It's primary function is to recognize outstanding contributions to the residence halls.
