Request Early ArrivalFall Term Only
Housing contracts are effective beginning Sunday, August 31, 2008, for new students and
Monday, September 1, 2008, for returning students. New and returning students unable to arrive
on the designated dates may move in after those dates though
Wednesday, September 3, 2008, the first day of classes. The only approved early arrivals are: summer housing students, pre-season athletes, and a limited
number of student employees required for University opening. New students scheduled for Placement
Testing and Late Registration will also receive consideration. Beyond these, we are only able to approve
early move-in requests of an unusual or compelling nature.

Common examples of requests for early move-in that are NOT approved:
- My parents/family/friends are unable to help me move on the designated day.
- We have family Labor Day weekend vacation plans that conflict with move-in.
- We always have a traditional family reunion that day.
- The lease on my summer apartment ends and I don’t want to move twice.
- I have a job off-campus that I need to begin before my move-in date.
- I just want to move in some of my things, but not actually stay in my room.
- I have a state fair conflict.
- I know someone who did this last year.
